Off the coast of Palma de Mallorca, Team Zwitserleven Booth/Dercksen had
an easy second racing day during the Princess Sofia Cup. On Monday April
10th 2006 with a northerly of fifteen to twenty knots, Mitch Booth and
Herbert Dercksen from the Netherlands took two bullets in the olympic
catamaran fleet of 41 Tornado=92s, representing eighteen countries. The
Dutchmen have a fifth position on the leaderboard after five races. Yann
Guichard and Alexandre Guyader from France are in the lead

=93It becomes a lot easier for us, if the wind is like this=94, said
Dercksen afterwards. =93We=20
are a bit heavier and those extra kilogrammes make a difference in
stronger conditions. Our boatspeed is better than from most other
competitors.=94 A steady breeze also simplified the tactics. Dercksen:
=93There was always one best side of the course and we made the right
choise every time.=94 Team Zwitserleven Booth/Dercksen started with a
third position in the first race of the day, followed by two bullets.

On Sunday, the start of the event was more difficult for the Dutch team.
Due to a changeable wind in force and direction, there were major
differences on the course. Booth and Dercksen sailed to the wrong side
twice and were parked without pressure in the sails. Dercksen: =93It was =
a
strange day, but that was the case for everybody.=94 They finished in =
21st
and 22nd position.

About the Princess Sofia Trophy 2006
>From Sunday April 9 until Friday 14 2006, the Princess Sofia Trophy will
be sailed outside the coast of Palma de Mallorca. All olympic classes
are present, except for the Star. Forty-one teams representing eighteen
countries will compete in the Tornado class. Eleven races are scheduled,
followed by the Grand Final on Friday. Last year=92s winner Darren =
