F18 Coaching.
The next F18 Coaching weekend will be on 25th/26th February. The F18/RYA =
Coach is Adam May and he will be at Datchet Water at 11.00am 25th. ready =
and waiting. Adam is very experienced in a range of sailing craft, from =
Olympics in Tornado to 2.4's where he has just returned from a most =
successful coaching session for the UK team in Perth, Western Australia. =
The UK Formula 18 Association receives monies from RYA to support their =
coaching programme, trainees are just asked to make a small contribution =
towards expenses. F18 is recognised by the RYA and ISAF as the =
transitional craft to the OlympicTornado.
Catamarans can be left at Datchet Water after the weekend as then they =
will be ready for the first F18 Q Series regatta on 11th/12th March.
Further details will be available on the F18 stand at the RYA Dinghy =
Show at Alexandra Palace on 4th/5th March.
Competition for World places will be severe this year as the UK has had =
their allocation reduced due to demand from other countries for World =
allocations. The UK are arguing for more but at the moment, only the top =
13 in the UK rankings will be able to go to Hyeres in July and be part =
of the 160 catamaran F18 World Championships.
